quick trip to wenatchee....

This weekend, we took a quick trip to Wenatchee....where we used to live several years ago. Lance had some work meetings/dinners to attend to, and the boys and I went along just for fun!

We took the boys on hike along the Apple Capital Loop Trail at Confluence State Park. After being in the car nearly 3 hours from Spokane, they were more than happy to walk and run most of the way!
They found some bird feathers...and attempted to fly!

Saturday we got up, and hit Bison Bagel shop for breakfast. We also went to the farmers' market, the boys played by the fountain, and then we crossed the walking train bridge and ended up on the "loop" trail again. Looked at some sculptures, walked down by the Columbia River.
Not sure, they were supposed to climb on the sculptures, but they had fun anyhow.
For lunch, we joined our friends for a picnic at the park. Lance, John and the kids spontaneously entered into a "disc-golf" tournament that was happening at the same park. They got lessons along the way from some "pros". John & Lance waited for the results. Lance took 3rd, John was 2nd....out of 3 competitors in their Adult/Male/Novice category. Lance thinks the results were fixed! But they still got some pretty cool prizes.
It was HOT in Wenatchee! The boys were given balloons by some nice ladies, but they were pretty tuckered out, and slept almost all the way home back to Spokane.
On the way home, in central WA we saw some parachutes/skydivers?
The boys were quite excited!
It was a fun quick trip and it made us realize, again, how much we miss Wenatchee!

Thanks for those pics! I love the Columbia River. Sounds like you had a great - wear out the boys weekend, but also an enjoyable time walking around and doing fun stuff. I love to go back to places we used to live as tourists. It definitely changes your perceptions..
