In an attempt to burn the calories that we would consume later on with our Superbowl Snacks, we went for an afternoon hike. The trail we chose was pretty much deserted, so Boog got to run around the foothills freely. However, her freedom came at quite a high price. By the time we got back to the bottom of the hike, our poor pooch, Boog was absolutely covered in cactus spines. Big ones, little ones, teeny-tiny microscopic ones. Apparently our less-than-brilliant canine companion does not think twice before casually walking on low-to-the-ground prickly pears or passing too close to the taller cacti. So, we spent a bunch of time de-spining the dog. Other than that, our hike was lovely, invigorating and refreshing!! The weather was perfect. And, we are looking forward to Spring for more and more and more local hiking! :)
