The boys birthday always involves the 4th of July. So this year we took them camping in Montana for the weekend. We spent the majority of the 4th of July in Missoula.
We attended a fair, a carnival and then headed back to St. Regis for fireworks.
All I can say is those wild Montana folks with their 100% legal fireworks are CRAZY!!! Because of the enormous magnitude of fireworks that one can actually purchase for their private use....we weren't even sure when the "official fireworks show" that was put on by the city actually started! We felt like we were in a war zone, people were setting off HUGE fireworks all around us! It was nuts....the boys were completely over stimulated! Simon finally crawled inside his sleeping bag and went to sleep, and Colin was all huddled up in a little ball! I couldn't actually relax, because there were so many fireworks that were toppling over and randomly shooting off here & there into the crowd. So I was on constant alert, in case a ROGUE firework should come over and explode on us! Maybe next year, we'll watch from the car.
